House Czerner

We have recently completed a new home in Noordhoek in the western Cape. Its a 400m² that has been designed around passive design principles  We have made adjustable sliding sunscreens and used the site topography to shelter from the excessive winds. The house is heated by means of centralized wood fireplace with ducted hot air circulation. The cooling is by natural ventilation.

Below is a testemonial we received from the client and some more images of the completed work

"Thank you so much for our fantastic new home. It is only when the house was completed that I really understood what a difference a good architect makes. The biggest plus is the wind protection – the south-easter can be blowing at gale-force and we can sit on the patio with hardly a breath of air…for Cape Town this is a huge bonus. Apart from that the flow works, the house is not big but feels so spacious and it is beautifully cool even on the hottest day. The entrance is such a feature and everyone comments on the size and beauty of the front door. "

Hyde Park Offices Completed

We have recently completed a triple A grade sectional title office development in Hyde Park. The development has almost 5000m² of prime office space. The building employs many passive design strategies and energy efficient lighting & water heating strategies. Natural light and ventilation is enabled through optimal office wing depth & motion sensors and light meters are used to optimize any artificial lighting required  We also utilized insulated lightweight construction in conjunction with conventional construction to create an efficient building envelope. Included are some images of the completed project.
